Mr. Rabinowitz’s distinguished career in the securities industry spans over four decades. Under his leadership, Maxim Group has grown into a leading investment banking, securities and investment management firm. Mr. Rabinowitz possesses a solid track record of building and growing successful companies in the financial services industry during a time of unprecedented challenge for both business in general and the securities industry specifically. His investment banking and capital markets expertise is sought after by a broad range of public and private companies in the U.S. and abroad.
Prior to Maxim Group, Mr. Rabinowitz served as an Executive Vice President at Investec Ernst & Company, an international specialist bank headquartered in South Africa and the U.K. He was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and supervised the growth and expansion of the Institutional Sales & Trading, Capital Markets and Wealth Management divisions. Over his four-year tenure at the firm, Mr. Rabinowitz orchestrated a series of high-profile acquisitions which tripled the group’s presence in the U.S. In 2002, he lead a management buyout of certain core assets of the firm which became the foundation of Maxim Group.
From 1988 – 1999, Mr. Rabinowitz served as CFO and later as President and CEO of Stuart Coleman & Company, a NYSE member firm which he successfully sold to Investec Ernst & Company in 1999.
Mr. Rabinowitz serves as Chairman of both the Maxim Foundation and the Rabinowitz Family Foundation (RCF), both which assist families with special needs children and which provides monetary assistance to other notable charitable causes. The foundations have made the differences in many lives in many different communities over the past 18 years. Mr. Rabinowitz also sits on the investment committee of the Brooklyn College foundation.
Michael is married with three adult children and four grandchildren.
