Since its founding, Maxim Group recognized its obligation to be a socially responsible organization. In 2002, the Executive Committee established the Maxim Foundation to meet that obligation. The Foundation has contributed to worthy causes at home and abroad such as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the American Cancer Society, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Brain Tumor Foundation and The Red Cross. In addition the Foundation has contributed to relief efforts such as the December 2004 Asian Tsunami; Hurricane Katrina, which struck New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast in August, 2005; the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti; and in 2012, Hurricane Sandy, which affected communities in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The Foundation’s focus was expanded in 2004 to include assistance for local families that were caring for children with special healthcare needs. Many of these children are medically fragile, chronically ill or living with life-threatening illnesses.
