Maxim Group LLC, a leading full-service mid-tier investment banking, securities and wealth management firm today announced the appointment of Salvatore "Sal" Renzo, 39, as senior vice president of investment banking. Maxim Group continues to bolster the capabilities of its investment banking team that specializes in structuring private investments in public equity securities (PIPES). Maxim Group was ranked in the top ten firms for total private placements completed for public companies from 2004 through the first half of 2008.Based in New York, Renzo be will be responsible for sourcing and managing transactions for emerging growth and middle market companies across a range of industries and regions. "Sal has over 15 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience serving private and public companies primarily in the healthcare, technology and homeland security sectors. His financial management experience serving as the CFO of emerging growth companies clearly brings an added dimension to the capabilities of our investment banking department," said Clifford A. Teller, executive managing director and head of investment banking at Maxim Group.
Prior to joining Maxim Group, Renzo was a vice president at Midtown Partners and Co. LLC, a boutique investment bank focused on PIPES from 2006 through 2007. He was also a principal at Marco Polo Securities, a boutique investment bank focused on middle market and cross border transactions from 2004 through 2006. Renzo's operational experience includes being the CFO for RRI Managed Services, a healthcare services provider from 2001 through 2003. Renzo also served as a member of transitional management teams in turnarounds and restructurings for such companies as Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, Benefice Advantage, DCS Inc, and Trafo-Data Inc.
Renzo is a Certified Public Accountant and his experience includes tenures at Deloitte & Touche LLP and Ernst & Young LLP from 1992 through 1996. He received a B.A. in Finance from Pace University in 1991 and an M.B.A. from Clemson University in 1999.
