Maxim Group LLC Expands Institutional Sales Platform with the Appointment of a New Managing Director

Maxim Group LLC, a leading full service investment banking, securities and wealth management firm today announced the appointment of James T. Barker as its new managing director, head of institutional sales and sales trading. In his new position, Barker will run the day-to-day operations of the extensive institutional equities business of Maxim Group.

Mr. Barker brings over two decades worth of institutional sales and sales trading to Maxim Group. He began his career at CJ Lawrence / Deutsche Bank as a managing director of US Equity trading where he was responsible for a 100 person sales and trading team. In 1998, Mr. Barker joined Credit Lyonnais as a managing director where he was instrumental in integrating the US and international trading platforms. He later became the COO of the Equity Division of Wasserstein Perella where he was responsible for US equity distribution to Europe. Mr. Barker held similar positions with Think Equity Partners, Conifer Securities and most recently with Collins Stewart LLC. He graduated from Iona College with a BBA in Finance.
