Maxim Group LLC Expands Leveraged Finance Platform with the Appointment of Three Senior Level Executives
Maxim Group LLC, a leading full-service boutique investment banking, securities and wealth management firm announced the enhancement of its Leveraged Finance Group through the appointments of Sharie Loeffler, Catherine Yelverton and Kevin Cohen, CFA. The group will be based in Maxim's New York office.
Ms. Loeffler, who was appointed as managing director and head of the Leveraged Finance Group, brings a decade of distressed credit sales and trading experience to Maxim Group. She began her career at Davidson Kempner Partners as a distressed credit analyst and trader. Prior to joining Maxim Group, Ms. Loeffler spent four years on the distressed/par leveraged loan sales and trading desk at Goldman Sachs. She graduated from Northwestern University with a B.A. in History and Economics and received an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business.
Ms. Yelverton will serve as a managing director and will be responsible for trading bank loans and high yield bonds in the Retailing, Food, Restaurant, Consumer Products, Cable/Wireless, Media/Broadcasting, Technology and Paper & Packaging sectors. Prior to joining Maxim Group, Ms. Yelverton was a managing director and Global Head of Loan Trading/High Yield Trading for ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Previously she was a managing director - European High Yield Trading for Paribas Corporation in London. In addition, Ms. Yelverton held similar positions at First Chicago, JP Morgan, Barclays Bank and PaineWebber Inc. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BBA in Banking and Finance.
Mr. Cohen brings a decades worth of debt and equity research experience to Maxim Group. He began his career at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette as an equity analyst covering REIT's. In 2005, Mr. Cohen joined Banc of America Securities as a senior publishing analyst in their leveraged finance group covering the paper/packaging and metals/mining sectors. He later moved to the special situations/distressed debt desk where he was recognized as a "Runner-up" in Institutional Investor Magazine's 2007 All America Fixed Income Research Team. Mr. Cohen graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a double major in Economics and Legal studies. He will trade bank loans and high yield bonds in the Home Building, REIT and Building Products sectors.
