Maxim Group LLC, a leading full service mid–tier investment banking, securities and wealth management firm today announced the appointment of Karl Brenza,46,as managing director, investment banking. The firm's investment bank has continued its impressive growth having been involved in over 75 transactions since its formation in 2002."We are pleased to have an investment banking professional with Mr. Brenza's investment banking, financial advisory and Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) experience join Maxim Group" indicated Clifford A. Teller, executive managing director and head of the investment banking division at Maxim Group. "Karl's 15 years of investment banking and financial advisory experience is bolstered by significant operational and technology experience as a corporate executive that will benefit our corporate clients,” added Teller.
During his career, Mr. Brenza has completed an extensive array of transactions in the areas of mergers, acquisitions, SPAC/blank check offerings, IPOs, PIPEs, fairness opinions, private financings and financial advisory assignments.
Prior to joining Maxim, Mr. Brenza was managing director and head of investment banking at Broadband Capital Management from 2002 to 2005 and a managing director and head of industry consolidations at BlueStone Capital Partners from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Brenza began his career as an investment banker at Prudential Securities.
Mr. Brenza's operational and technology experience includes positions as chief finance officer of IT services company, Enherent Corp. during 2005 and 2007; director of business development and head of the ISP/telecom group for Ikano Communications, an internet services company, from 2000 – 2001; and as a systems engineer for Raytheon Co. early in his career.
Mr. Brenza received an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School in 1989, a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1986 from the University of Pennsylvania and has been a guest lecturer at the NYU Stern Graduate School of Business.
Mr. Brenza is a five year resident of Katonah, New York where he lives with his wife and three children.
