About Lockwood Capital Advisors
Lockwood Capital Advisors gives the clients of Maxim Financial Advisors the opportunity to create custom profiles, generate wealth accumulation scenarios and create client specific asset allocation models or access individual institutional money managers on a true separate account basis. After completing a simple client questionnaire which considers criteria including asset holdings, time horizon, risk tolerance levels and other suitability factors, IARs with Maxim Financial Advisors can build a custom multi-styled approach to investing for you using one of two programs, Lockwood Investment Strategies (LIS) or Lockwood Asset Allocation Portfolios (LAAP).
LIS and LAAP are discretionary, multi-discipline managed account products housed in a single portfolio. LCM determines asset allocation strategy and selects money managers/investment vehicles for each investment style component of the portfolio. There are five core models ranging from safety of principal to growth and portfolios are managed with regard to the investor's tax status for tax efficiency. LIS accounts will offer investors diversification through traditional individual corporate securities, open and closed end funds, and ETFs. LAAP accounts will do the same, but individual equities and bonds are not traded in the portfolio. At the client's discretion, LIS portfolios may also include non-traditional asset classes designed to reduce overall portfolio volatility. LIS accounts have a $250,000 minimum and will hold between 50-250 securities depending on the model. LAAP accounts have an initial minimum investment of $50,000 and will hold between five-15 securities depending on the model.
The traditional Separately Managed Account program gives clients the ability to build portfolios by selecting money managers from an extensive list of over 60 leading individual managers, including JP Morgan, Lazard, and Rittenhouse, representing over 110 different investing styles. Typically individual clients may have to invest one million dollars or more to have access to these managers elsewhere, but because of the relationship that Lockwood has with them, clients can access most managers for typically $100,000 each. Other benefits include tax harvesting, transparency, and a broad spectrum of asset classes.
