Maxim Charitable Foundation 2007 Recipient
Tyler Jeanne Meyer
Born with an extremely rare and complex group of congenital malformations referred to as cloacal exstrophy, Tyler Jeanne was born with her bladder and intestines on the outside of her body. After multiple surgeries, her bladder remains on the outside, and she will require more surgery in the future from out-of-state hospitals. Due to the complexity of her situation, she needs a tremendous amount of care at all times.
Tyler Jeanne has made tremendous developmental and medical gains since her birth, and is walking despite previous claims she would not due to the therapeutic services she has received. If she undergoes these surgeries in the next few years, there is hope that she has the potential to live a normal life.
Tyler Jeanne has Medicaid, but this does not cover all of her medical supplies and expenses. The Maxim Charitable Foundation was proud to provide Jackie Meyer, Tyler Jeanne's single mother who was forced to leave her job to care for Tyler, with funds to be put toward the expense of future surgeries and medical services.
