John J. Garrity
Executive Managing Director - Wealth Management
Mr. Garrity has over 20 years experience in the securities industry. Prior to joining Maxim Group, he was a Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager for Investec Ernst & Company, an international specialist bank headquartered in South Africa and the UK. Previous to that, he was the firm's Associate Director of US Equity Research. For nearly five years prior to its purchase, Mr. Garrity acted as the Director of Sales and Training for Stuart Coleman & Company, which was acquired by Investec in 1999. Mr. Garrity began his Wall Street career in the Private Client Group Division of Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1985. Five years later, he joined the Wealth Management Division of Smith Barney where he managed a clientele of high net worth investors. Mr. Garrity graduated from Fordham University with a BA in Political Science. His market insights have been featured in several respected financial publications, including: The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Business Week, The New York Times and the Washington Post.
